Rooted in Diligence. Driven by Insight.
I am a cross-disciplinary engineer and software developer with a strong foundation in C++, Qt, and systems-level architecture. I specialize in building and debugging high-performance, cross-platform applications—Windows, Linux, and macOS—with an emphasis on reliability, extensibility, and maintainability.
With over three decades of experience, I’ve co-authored TheSky, a leading astronomy application used by observatories and astronomers around the world. I played a key role in its image acquisition system, developing both the high-level control software and the low-level driver interfaces that communicate with cameras and other hardware in real-time. I also designed the plug-in device driver architecture and a powerful scripting object model to automate observatory workflows.
Clients call on me when things get serious—especially during high-stakes situations like disaster recovery, system cutovers, or major security breaches. I’ve led full-stack remediation efforts on compromised WordPress environments, rebuilding infrastructure, restoring services, and securing operations under extreme pressure.
My specialties include:
- C++ and Qt-based software architecture, multi-threading, and networking
- Camera control, image acquisition systems, and custom hardware integration
- Cross-platform commercial builds with static linking and CI/CD
- Web server configuration, AWS disaster recovery, and WordPress hardening
- Root cause analysis in complex software/hardware systems
- Graceful legacy-to-modern system migrations with zero data loss and minimal downtime
- Developer tools, documentation, and customer-focused support
Whether you need a fire put out, a system reimagined, or software crafted from the ground up, I combine diligence, technical range, and engineering insight to deliver lasting results.
